‘In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.’ Romans 12v6-8
The most important thing to remember about a person’s primary spiritual gift is that it is particular to that person! While this sounds obvious, it isn’t when taken in regard to other spiritual gifts we may possess and use. Yet , among these, only one gift occupies a primary function in building God’s Church and Kingdom – why?
….because other people are constantly blessed and edified when a person uses the gift.
…because it provides a sense of spiritual fulfilment in the person that no other gift can.
